Internship description
-
- Conduct sectorial analyses on investment themes, particularly related to Climate Hedging.
- Provide data and insights to support Asia Impact's deal-making process.
- Create reports and presentations that guide investment decisions.
- Collaborate with the Investment Team and others on ad hoc projects.

Candidate Profile
-
- Current Master's students enrolled in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields (e.g., climate change, energy transition, etc.).
- A good background in economics is required due to the technical nature of some of the tasks to be executed.
- Knowledge of finance fundamentals (appreciated but not mandatory).
- Excellent data analysis and research skills.
- Ability to produce clear and insightful sectorial forecasts and business environment reports.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, good Italian knowledge is appreciated.
- Must hold citizenship from a Schengen area country.

Location and Working Conditions
- Location: the internship will take place in person at our office in Grono (Graubünden, CH), with the possibility of flexibly carrying out some hours remotely.
- Accommodation: if deemed necessary, accommodation will be made available under favorable terms in Bellinzona (Ticino, CH).
- Salary: the monthly compensation for the internship is CHF 1'000.
- Start Date: the approximate start date for this internship is January 2025.
- Duration: six months with the possibility of being extended.

The Role

- Conduct sectoral analysis, particularly within the Climate Hedging field, describing the current business environment and forecasting future trends.
- Gather and synthesize data that will guide Asia Impact’s investment strategy in key sectors.
- Prepare detailed reports to inform decision-making, ensuring that the research findings are accurate, relevant, and actionable.

- Collaborate with the investment team to engage in discussions about various business models and case studies.
- Support the validation process by analyzing and reviewing the business and financial viability of research findings.

Candidate Profile
-
- Education: the candidate should be attending, or have just completed, the final year of Business School. A strong interest in themes related to climate change, renewable energy, and waste management, is a plus.
- Professional Experience: relevant experience in research roles is crucial, ideally with some exposure to investment or consulting functions.
- Research Abilities: the candidate should be skilled in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing technical information and data. The ability to produce clear, insightful, and forward-looking reports is essential.
- Analytical Skills: familiarity with business models, financial statements, or investment decision-making is needed.
- Creativity & Initiative: the ability to go beyond desk research, finding creative and effective ways of sourcing information and gaining insights, is key to this role.
- Language Skills: fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Italian is appreciated.
